This year for the first time, we are going to exhibit at the Salon du Vegetal from 21 – 23 February in Angers. We are looking forward to exhibiting there. We are looking forward  meeting our customers, hearing from everyone what they think of our collections, quality and service.

The Phalaenopsis from Maarel Orchids are always naturally beautiful. However, we have carefully selected the new collections for Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day. We offer various pink and red varieties of our  Moments collections in handsome glasswork and ceramic. We have an interesting concept for any type of consumer. Of course, we also contribute ideas about the composition of your collection.

Maarel Orchids attaches much importance to personal contact with its customers. For this reason, we plan to participate in several international trade fairs this year. We hope to meet you during the IPM in Essen, from 24 – 27 January next. You will find us at booth GA04, near the FloraHolland Pavilion in the Galeria Hall. During this fair we will present the new small packaging for five Phalaenopsis in 12-cm pots. We will also offer some new ideas during this fair for Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day. A break-through was forced in the new construction project of Maarel Orchids. In a record time of only 3 months about 8000 m² has been made available for the first extension of the existing greenhouse complex. With the delivery of this first phase space will be made available for an additional 650,000 plants, of which the first plants will be ready for sale next year in the period before Christmas.

For the first phase of 8000 m² quite a lot of material was supplied. In addition to the steel, aluminium and glass for the greenhouse complex itself, almost 15 kilometres of heating pipes and approximately 5 kilometres of rainwater pipes were installed. In an earlier stage one kilometre of large supply pipes were drilled underneath the existing greenhouse complex for energy supply (electricity and warm water). Currently also several kilometres of electric cables have been pulled through a section of these pipes. The floor of the new greenhouse has been fitted with a waterproof covering, consisting of two layers. Together with the three shielding screens at the top of the greenhouse it encompasses a surface area of 40,000 m². With this we could cover eight soccer fields!

The real break-through took place on Friday, December 2. At that time the first part of the former outside wall of the existing building was removed, which made the extension to the new greenhouse official. In the coming days the first few tables with plants will be rolled from the existing greenhouse into the new greenhouse. All this takes place exactly 5 years after starting the use of the first phase of the already existing greenhouse complex.  Over the next months we will continue to work on realising another 10,000 m² of greenhouses.
